macintosh-se-30
Apple Macintosh SE/30 – Tested Working, SD Storage Upgrade, Keyboard & Mouse, System 7.5

The Macintosh SE/30 is one of the most sought-after compact Macs ever made — a 16MHz 68030 packed into the classic all-in-one case, and still a favorite among collectors and retro Mac users today for how much machine it packs into that small footprint. This one is tested and fully working: it powers on and boots cleanly into System 7.5, with a tidy desktop full of period-correct utilities (ResEdit, StuffIt Lite, ShrinkWrap, TeachText, PowerView, CD-ROM Toolkit, LaCie's SC Setup, and more) — see the actual boot screen photos.

The real headline feature here is what's inside: this SE/30 has already been upgraded with a modern SCSI-to-SD storage adapter (visible on the logic board in the detail photos) in place of the original spinning SCSI hard drive. That means no risk of an aging, failure-prone original hard drive dying on you — the desktop shows a healthy 1,999 MB volume with plenty of free space. This is exactly the kind of sensible modern upgrade collectors look for in a driver-quality compact Mac.

What's Included

Apple Macintosh SE/30 system unit (Model No. M5119, serial F940A62K02)

Matching Apple ADB keyboard (extended-style, with numeric keypad)

Apple ADB Mouse

Internal SCSI-to-SD storage adapter already installed and running System 7.5 — a major reliability upgrade over an original 1980s hard drive

External SCSI drive

Condition Notes

Tested and confirmed powering on and booting cleanly to the System 7.5 desktop — see the actual boot screen photos, including the Finder showing the SD-based storage volume mounted with free space to spare.

A genuinely exciting detail for collectors: the inside of the case bears the famous cast-in signatures of the original Macintosh design team, a tradition carried over from the 1984 Macintosh case mold. Clearly legible names include Steve Jobs, Bill Fernandez, Susan Kare, Larry Kenyon, Mike Boich, Donn Denman, Patti King, and Martin Haeberli, among many others worn or too small to fully transcribe — see the interior photo.

The keyboard shows noticeably more case yellowing than its keycaps (a very common trait on vintage Apple ADB keyboards), including an uneven lighter blotch on the upper-left of the case — purely cosmetic, doesn't affect typing or function.

The top case has a couple of light surface scuffs near the rainbow Apple logo — cosmetic only.

No cracks, missing keys, or broken latches noted on the console, keyboard, or mouse.

A tested, driver-quality SE/30 with a modern SD storage upgrade already done for you and genuine cast-in team signatures inside the case — this is a compact Mac you can actually plug in and use, not a restoration project.
