Apple Macintosh SE/30 + Macintosh Plus Bundle – New PRAM Batteries, Display Issues, For Repair

$229.00

Two classic compact Macs sold together as one bundle: a Macintosh SE/30 (Model M5119) and a Macintosh Plus (Model M0001A). Both units have had their PRAM batteries freshly replaced — see the photo of the new battery installed in the Plus's compartment — which is exactly the maintenance item that most commonly needs doing on machines this age, so that part is already handled for you.

We want to be completely upfront about the headline issue: neither display currently works correctly. Both units power on, but the SE/30's screen shows a pattern of horizontal rolling interference lines, and the Macintosh Plus shows a dense checkerboard/static pattern — neither reaches a normal startup screen or desktop. These are classic symptoms of aging CRT analog board components (commonly failing capacitors or sync circuitry) on compact Macs this age, and are frequently repairable by someone comfortable with electronics work, but we have not diagnosed or repaired them ourselves. This bundle is priced and sold as-is, for repair or parts — not as tested-working units.

What's Included

  • Apple Macintosh SE/30 system unit (Model M5119)
  • Apple Macintosh Plus 1Mb system unit (Model M0001A)
  • Freshly installed PRAM battery in each unit
  • No keyboard or mouse included — system units only

Condition Notes

  • Both units power on, but neither display works correctly. The SE/30 shows horizontal rolling interference lines on screen; the Macintosh Plus shows a dense checkerboard/static pattern. Neither reaches a normal startup icon or desktop in our testing — see the actual screen photos. Classic symptoms of aging CRT analog board components, common and often repairable on machines this age, but not diagnosed or repaired by us. Sold as-is for repair or parts.
  • New PRAM batteries were installed in both machines recently (see photo of the fresh battery in the Macintosh Plus) — a good sign for clock/settings retention once the display issues are addressed.
  • The SE/30 case has a small scratch near the top-right corner and a faint mark on the top case, both visible in photos — cosmetic only.
  • The Macintosh Plus case has a small nick near the top-right edge, and has non-original hook-and-loop (Velcro) strips affixed to its side and top panels — not original to the machine, purely cosmetic, and should peel off easily.
  • No cracks, missing parts, or broken latches noted on either case.
  • This bundle does not include a keyboard or mouse — system units only.

A great project for someone comfortable with compact-Mac analog board work: two classic machines, both powering on and with fresh PRAM batteries already installed, priced to reflect that the display issues still need diagnosis and repair. Bring both of these back to life and you'll have a genuinely nice pair.

Ships securely double-boxed with foam padding; the SE/30 and Macintosh Plus packed separately. Buyer message before combining shipping with another item.
